One
of the less joyous aspects of the new year is the delivery
of your real estate tax assessment notice. For some
homeowners, and for many commercial property owners,
a review of whether you should file an appeal, is a
worthwhile process. We have significant experience in
this field. In fact, we won one of the largest tax refunds
in the history of Bergen County in the University Plaza
case. If you want us to help you evaluate your tax assessment,
and determine whether you should consider filing a tax
appeal on or before April 1, 2001, please call me or
my partner, Bob Jacobs.
This spring, various practice groups will hold executive
briefings at our offices or off-site. Already scheduled
are two briefings you may wish to attend. The Intellectual
Property/Media and Entertainment Group will host a seminar
for companies involved in e-media web-site design and
software creation. Leading that event will be Renata
Lowenbraun and Khoren Bandazian.
Also this spring a group of our attorneys will deliver
a business seminar for companies which have been in
business for two or more years, are growing fast, and
now face a new set of issues. Included on the agenda
are segments on avoiding employment-based problems,
such as workers compensation and unemployment compensation
insurance, negotiating with a bank for financing, trademark
and copyright issues, real estate issues, collections,
and much more. If you see your business or practice
as transitioning from start up to high growth phase,
this briefing is for you.
If you would like to be included on our invitation list,
please contact me or our administrator, Sue Janssen,
sjanssen@winnebantalaw.com.
Speaking of dot com, our web site is in process of a
major overhaul and the new one will be in place shortly.
On it, for instance, you will be able to register for
briefings as well as register to receive news updates
by e-mail.
I hope this year will be a prosperous and healthy one
for you and yours. Very truly yours,
